DENTON (WBAP/KLIF News) — Leading Denton County Republicans say they’re out on the Texas Speaker of the House.
The party’s local executive committee has unanimously passed a resolution of no confidence in Joe Straus, saying the county “has no confidence going forward that he’ll adequately support the direction outlined by the platform.”
In the resolution, Denton County Republicans mention how the Texas House failed to pass different pieces of legislation in both sessions this year, and that the house needs new leadership to represent Texas voters.
They say they’re going to send the resolution to all Republican state representatives, and that they demand elected officials to withdraw their support for Straus.
