A Dallas double murder conviction has been reversed

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – An appeals court has reversed the capital murder conviction of 29 year old Jerome Deamus, also known as “Big Daddy.” He was sentenced to life in prison for the 2013 bar fight killings of brothers Christopher and Cecil Ferguson. They were gunned down during an argument that started when Deamus accidentally knocked a drink out of one brother’s hand. His conviction was overturned, and a new trial ordered because prosecutors at the time did not turn over evidence that might have discredited one of their witnesses.
