Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Gasoline prices are rising across the state as Hurricane Harvey approaches the Texas gulf coast. Half of the nation’s refineries are located along the coast, and most of them will shut down as the storm approaches. The price of gasoline on the futures market increased by a nickel a gallon when the temporary shutdowns were announced, and is likely to jump dramatically if Harvey causes major damage to one or more refineries.
