City Crews Clean Up Abandoned House Where Lancaster Girl was Murdered

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas Code Compliance cleared high weeds and litter from the abandoned house in South Dallas where 13-year-old Shavon Randle was murdered earlier this year.

Crews also removed a memorial from in front of the house which honored Randle. City officials say the house could be torn down and another memorial or park may be put in its place.

“In the near future, we will be asking for suggestions on what we should do with the house to honor Shavon’s memory,” said Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway.

In lieu of tributes, the District 4 Councilman asks residents to donate to local family-oriented homeless shelters or battered women’s shelters.
