FEMA in Dallas to Help Harvey Evacuees

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is open in Dallas for people who evacuated from Hurricane Harvey.

Anyone who was effected by Hurricane Harvey should go online and register for assistance,” said FEMA Spokesperson Rita Egan. “We always say, give FEMA the opportunity to say yes.”

FEMA, along with the U.S. Small Business Administration, and State of Texas, are set up at the Kay Baylee Hutchison Convention Center from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. all week. Officials say the purpose is to explain to evacuees what kind of assistance they can receive and to help them apply for federal aid.

“The ones who are going to have the best luck being eligible are the ones from the 39 counties designated as disaster areas,” Egan said.

S.B.A representatives are on site to answer questions about disaster loan programs and how to get their businesses back up and running.
