DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) -Concerns about paperwork and technology are being raised over special education students displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
A parent group called Texans For Special Education Reform, said additional stresses are created when such children are displaced.
The Austin American-Statesman reports disability rights advocates are urging families of special education students to inquire about replacing assistive technology in schools, damaged by Hurricane Harvey. Advocates also want parents to have the right information to enroll a special education child in a new school. More than 50 schools remain closed, due to Harvey related damage.
The group plans to hold a 20-minute Facebook live session on Thursday.
