One Man Charged in Elderly Woman’s Murder

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – One person is charged with Capital Murder in the death of an elderly woman in North Dallas.

According to the Dallas Police Department, 71-year-old Norma Kakaceck was found dead in her home in the 7300 block of Palado Drive. Officers determined that the case showed signs of homicidal violence. Kakaceck’s 2005 gray Lexus SUV was missing from her home. Days later, Officers received a call from a citizen who spotted the SUV in Uptown Dallas. The driver of the car was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Police say that through the course of the investigation, it was determined that 45-year-old Michael McClendon, is responsible for Kakacek’s death. McClendon was taken into custody, and charged with Capital Murder. His bond was set at $500,000.

Police haven’t released information on a possible motive in the murder. The case remains under investigation.
