DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The new Dallas Police Chief is making an effort to be an active part of the Dallas community.
After serving as chief for less than a month, Renee Hall met with more than 100 citizens and a meet and greet in downtown. Some people attended the event with an interest in finding out more about the Chief’s plan to run the department.
“I really don’t know that much about her,” said Mike Helfant. “So I’m kind of like, let’s wait and see what happens.”
Others attended the reception with a restored confidence in the Dallas Police Department.
“Chief Hall will definitely add a brand new perspective as to what is expected to be done by the Police Department,” said Reggie Ruffin. “This is a very embattled and bitter Police Department right now that is going throughout a lot of issues that need to be addressed.”
Chief Hall said that she is devoted to boosting the Police Department’s morale and addressing accusations of a police shortage.
