FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Cowboys head coach says while they were all focused on the game against Arizona Monday night, they couldn’t ignore the National Anthem discussion.

Jason Garrett says that is why the team decided to take a knee prior to the anthem.

“We could not ignore the environment we’re in so we tried to address that head on, have thoughtful conversations and come up with a plan that everyone felt good about,” Garrett said. “I think our team did a good job of that.”

The cowboys did stand with locked arms during the performance of the National Anthem.

Garrett says he received plenty of positive feedback but that the feedback was mostly from friends and family.
