Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees has decided to fast-track the renaming of four elementary schools that bear the names of confederate generals. In a normal year school names aren’t changed until summer break. For this year the board decided Thursday night that Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, William Cabell, and Albert Sidney Johnston schools will each create renaming committees as soon as possible. The names those committees select are to be submitted to the trustees by November tenth. The trustees will then approve the new names by the middle of December.
