Las Vegas Gunman had Ties to North Texas

MESQUITE, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The gunman in the mass shooting at a country music concert in Las Vegas, Nevada had ties to North Texas.

Stephen Paddock lived in a retirement community in Mesquite, Nevada at the time of Sunday’s shooting, but public records show that prior to 2010 he was linked to several homes in Mesquite, Texas, including a house at 317 Keswick Lane. Samhi Abdel lived across the street from Paddock on Keswick Lane and said he kept to himself.

“The only time I saw him is when he came out or went into his house,” said Abdel. “Other than that, that was it.”

Abdel said he was shocked to learn that someone he was once neighbors with was capable of carrying out the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.

“You wouldn’t expect anyone from this neighborhood specially to do what he did in Vegas,” said Abdel. “Everyone currently living here is very friendly.”

Hundreds of people were injured in the shooting, and more than 50 people were killed.
