Searching for Owner of Runaway Exotic Lizard Caught in Mesquite

MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF) – Are you or anyone you know missing an Argentinian Tegu exotic lizard? Animal Control Officers in Mesquite say they captured the reptile around noon Wednesday after a homeowner discovered it was living in their backyard. The reptile is described as being docile and calm. The city says the animal will be sent to a reputable rescue organization if not claimed by Saturday, October 7 at 5:30 pm. The city goes on to say that adoption is not an option because reptiles require “very specialized care and housing.”
