Texas Delegation and Governor Ask for Nearly 19-Billion in Additional Harvey Relief

(WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas congressional delegation as well as Governor Greg Abbott is asking for nearly $19-billion more federal dollars for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Senator John Cornyn said this week they understand Texas is only a part of the overall need.

“Obviously with Irma, Maria and Harvey hitting Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands obviously the Texas delegation is interested in making sure that the Texas response is appropriate,” Cornyn said.

In a letter to the Senate and House Appropriations Committees, the delegation and Governor said that the original relief package was only a small fraction of what is needed.
