(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn is joining the growing calls to look closely at the Diversity Immigration Visa Program.
This coming after it is now believed that program allowed the suspect in this week’s terror attack to enter the United States.
Cornyn says the program does not take into effect what a potential immigrant could bring to the table.
“I believe we would be better served as a country by looking at some sort of merit-based immigration reform,” said Cornyn.
President Donald Trump called for an end to the program and to move toward a merit-based immigration system instead of a lottery.
