DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A parody of Big Tex has made its way to social media — this one, however, in the form of a polical ad.
The group “Conservative Response Team” posted a video to its Facebook page with a Big Tex-like figure named “Big Tax,” who has Mayor Mike Rawlings’ face superimposed on him.
In the video, Big Tax says Dallas is broke and trying to get voters to approve a $1 billion bond package to bail the city out of previous poor spending.
“We’ve got streets, schools, and parks to rename, and lots more statues to take down,” Big Tax says sarcastically in the video, with fair-like music playing behind him. “Big Tax says y’all must pay.”
The bond package would split the money up between improving Dallas streets, parks, and facilities, among others. It would also improve flood prevention in the city.
Citizens will vote on the package tomorrow. If you’d like to see the video with Big Tax, click here.
