TxDOT plans weekend closure of U.S. 75 in Plano and Richardson

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A long stretch of U.S. 75 will be closed during the weekend for a work project to remove the eastbound portion of the Plano Parkway bridge. The closure will begin at 3 a.m. Saturday morning, November 11, and will affect traffic in both directions between Renner Road to 15th Street. Detours will be set up at Alma Drive, K Avenue, Park Blvd and the frontage roads in the area. The highway will be reopened Monday morning at 5 a.m.

The closure of 75 Central for the weekend will be part of a larger project to improve lane changes between the expressway and the President George Bush Turnpike.

The Plano Star Courier reports U.S. 75 is the tenth most congested roadway in the state. According to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute that’s a leap from thirteenth a year earlier. 300,000 vehicles travel U.S. 75 each day.
