DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Assistant Dallas County District Attorney who was recorded arguing with an Uber driver has been fired.
32-year-old Jody Warner requested the ride late Friday night from the Capitol Pub in Old East Dallas and the driver got lost while taking her home.
The Dallas Morning News reports the driver, Shaun Platt, said that Warner physically assaulted him, called him names, accused of him of kidnapping her, threatened that he’d never work again and flaunted her status as an assistant district attorney.
Platt said he ended the ride after the confrontation, called the police and asked her to get out. Warner stayed and waited for the police to show up.
She reportedly left in a police car.
Platt released the audio on social media.
District Attorney Faith Johnson released a statement regarding the incident which she said Warner’s actions are beneath the integrity of the District Attorney’s Office.
“After careful consideration and a thorough investigation, I have decided to terminate Ms. Warner. Although criminal charges have not been filed, her behavior is contrary to this office’s core principle of integrity, and it will not be tolerated. As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom. I will not waiver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff. I will continue to run this office with transparency and respect for the justice system and the community we serve. I encourage you, the public, to look beyond this incident and recognize that our prosecutors work hard each day to seek justice on your behalf.”
