DENTON COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas Police officer is accused of stealing groceries from a Walmart in Denton County. 30-year-old Christopher Hankins is charged with misdemeanor theft after police say he walked out of a Cross Roads Walmart Wednesday morning around 1:30 with nearly $830 worth of groceries, all while wearing a Dallas Police issued windbreaker jacket. Authorities say he was confronted in the parking lot, and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. His badge, ID, and service weapon were confiscated before being taken to the Denton County jail. Hankins, who has been with the force since 2014, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
