CARROLLTON (WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas man is jailed for allegedly kidnapping an estranged girlfriend.
Carrollton Police found and arrested 25-year-old Jose Reyes-Martinez of Dallas late Thanksgiving night. Police say Martinez’ estranged girlfriend, 23-year-old Madai Cazares of Grand Prairie who was missing since Tuesday, was found with him and is safe.
Reyes-Martinez is in the Carrollton City Jail charged with Kidnapping, a third degree felony. Carrollton Police found Cazares, Reyes, and a vehicle of interest in the investigation concealed in a wooded area near Loop 12 and Northwest Highway along the Dallas and Irving border Thursday night. Reyes was taken into custody without incident.
Cazares’ family reported her missing Wednesday afternoon after she failed to come home from work in the 2900 block of Belmeade Dr. in Carrollton. Investigators found Cazares’ vehicle there, unlocked with her cell phone and purse still inside. A review of surveillance video then revealed the actual kidnapping. Cazares recently ended a three-year relationship with Reyes, and they have a child together.
Cazares has been reunited with her family.
