(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn says he is confident the republicans will nominate someone worthy of succeeding Congressman Joe Barton who has decided against running again.
Cornyn says Barton has served his constituents ably.
“I certainly respect his decision not to run for re-election,” Cornyn said. “I don’t really have any comment about the circumstances but I do respect his decision.”
Barton announced Thursday he will not run again after an explicit photo circulated on social media and several sexually-charged conversations were released by two women.
