Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth is hosting a National Poverty Summit today and tomorrow, with 160 county leaders expected to attend. It coincides with the Tarrant area food bank’s canned food drive — which organizers say is crucial this time of year, given how important food is at the holidays.
Those attending the summit will also prepare meals for children at the food bank.
The summit will also tackle how to set impoverished kids up for success in school, as well as the opioid crisis effect on them.
