
Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County has sworn in its new interim sheriff.
Marian Brown officially took the oath of office today at midnight. .
Brown was appointed earlier this month by the Dallas County Commissioners Court to replace outgoing Sheriff Lupe Valdez who is running for governor of Texas.
Brown, a Democrat, is among a field of 4 — another Democrat and 2 Republicans — competing in the March primary for the job.
Brown, who was third in command before Valdez’s resignation; has been with the department for 3 years. Prior that that she spent 26 years with the Duncanville Police Department.
