Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas sex crime detectives are trying to find a man who viciously beat and attempted to rape a 59-year old Oak Cliff woman. The incident, which lasted about 8 minutes on the corner of Kenway Lane and Five Mile Parkway was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera.
Lieutenant Sharise Hadnot says officers are troubled by the fact that passing motorists did not nothing to help the woman.
Before the attack, police say the suspect was seen at a Dollar Tree, less than a mile from the woman’s home.
Hadnot says suspect was seen wearing Christmas socks, a tank top and black shorts. Fifteen minutes later, he was at the victim’s home. He approached her driveway and asked for a drink of water. “She went in the house, got him a drink of water,” Hadnot said.
Police said the suspect then dragged the woman to the ground. The attack lasted eight minutes.
“She tried to fight him off,” Hadnot said. “She was moving around. They were rolling around in the grass. He was punching her trying to get her to comply with what he wanted.”
