Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police Association President Mike Mata tweeted images of a police cruiser hit by random gunfire this morning.
Mata says two officers had just left the jail and were headed back to their division on I-30 when the incident occurred.
The officer in the passenger seat sustained multiple cuts to the face from flying glass and gun blow-back. The driver was not injured.
No word on the suspect.
Meantime Mata offered deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers from the association membership to their fallen comrade in Richardson.
He said the Dallas Police officers stand in solidarity with the Richardson Police Department.
Mata tweeted: “Real lives are affected by this false narrative of a War on the Police! Some coward shot at our officers!”
