Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Most of those affected by the gas leak crisis in Northwest Dallas are settling back into their homes, though many are still on edge.

On Sunday night Atmos was seen continuing repairs in an outage area that affected some 28-hundred homes.

Meantime, the Dallas Morning News has obtained documents which show that more than a month before a 12-year old girl died in home explosion in the area, Atmos found a leak in the alley running behind her home.

Records show Atmos applied for emergency permit to fix it on January; got the permit on January 18th; and made repairs by January 29th.

12-year old Linda Evans was killed in a home explosion on January 23rd, three days after her mother reported the smell of gas.

As of Friday, officials say crews had replaced 152,000 feet of pipe, accounting for more than 95-percent of planned repairs.

The massive repair project came on the heels of several natural gas incident around the neighborhood just north of Love field – one of which included a fatal house explosion.
