Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) Southwest Airlines continues to grow its corporate campus near Love Field. Officials unveiled a new 6-story facility that will be home to many of its flight operations, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The new building has been dubbed ‘Wings,’ and cost the airling some 250-million dollars to build; it’s located across Denton Dr. from the its main headquarters.
It’s Southwest’s latest addition to a string of other buildings that have gone up over the past six years — a build-out that now covers a sprawling 1.3 square feet.
Southwest CEO Gary Kelly told The News:
“We’ve come a long way in Dallas in a relatively short period of time,” he said. “Starting five or six years ago, we decided we needed to invest more. And we wanted to invest, here, in our hometown.”
The ‘Wings’ building is most likely the last piece of the campus according to Kelly, but an expansion of several flight training simulators may take place in the future.
