Authorities say school bus service in the Mansfield ISD will not be imacted by a big chemical fire that broke out overnight at a chemical recycling plant. Mansfield ISD’s Associate Director of Communications says law enforcement and school officials had been talking about the issue all morning since several schools are located near the blaze. They determined that none of the school’s campuses are not affected by the fire.

At least 6 fire crews on the scene of a massive chemical recycling plant fire in Rendon have the fire contained. The fire broke out after a series of explosions around 1:30am. The plant recycles paint and paint thinner, which according to the Tarrant County fire marshall pose no health risks to residents.
Residents have been told to shelter in place however, due to the heavy smoke caused by the blaze. Officials say the fire is on a bus route, which could cause problems later this morning.
Our Scott Sidway has been on the scene since just before 5am. Reporters are being kept a distance away from the blaze.

Multiple fires crews continue working a large blaze at a chemical recycling plant in southern Tarrant County. The plant at 5265 Newt Patterson Rd. reportedly stores big rigs and large barrels of an unknown liquid substance. No injuries have been reported from the massive blaze which broke out after a series of explosions around 1:30AM. Residents have been told to shelter in place due to extremely heavy smoke from the blaze.
There are at least 2 schools located within minutes of the plant.

A massive chemical plant fire continues to burn in Rendon this morning. The fire broke out after multiple explosions around 1:30am. Our Scott Sidway on the scene reports that a residents in the area is concerned about her daughter and granddaughter who lives about 500 feet from the blaze. Authorities have not permitted her to go check on her, but says she has phone contact with her.

Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Multiple fire crews are on the scene of a huge fire burning at a chemical recycling plant fire in Rendon. The fire has been burning for several hours at the plant located at Duke Price Road and Newt Patterson Road.

Witnesses report hearing a series of explosions before the fire broke out.
The plant is located in a rural area, with a few homes nearby.
So far there are no reports of injuries or evacuations.
