Southwest Gives $5,000, Apology To Passengers Of Flight 1380

DALLAS(WBAP/KLIF)- Southwest Airlines has issued a written apology and a gesture of goodwill to the passengers of flight 1380.

The company confirmed Friday that A $5,000 check along with the apology is in the mail.

Flight 1380 made an emergency landing on Tuesday in Philadelphia because of an engine explosion which killed New Mexico banking executive Jennifer Riordan.

The Dallas-based airline is currently conducting tests on the CFM 56 engine fan blades, one of which failed during the scheduled flight from New York to Dallas.
