Astronaut Alan Bean has died in Houston at the age of 86.  Family members say Bean died after a short illness that began while on a trip about two weeks ago.   Bean was the fourth person to walk on the moon, and the last surviving member of the 1969  Apollo 12 mission.  He commanded Skylab Mission II in 1973. Bean became a full time painter after retiring from NASA.   Wife Leslie says Alan Bean died surrounded by family members at Houston Methodist Hospital.
