DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A former NFL star is trying to make the start of school something to look forward to for North Texas students.
Dallas Cowboys legend DeMarcus Ware values a positive learning environment and helped surprise two Dallas ISD elementary teachers at an event Wednesday with funding from the retail chain Staples for classroom projects.
“It starts with the schools and the teachers,” Ware said. “And when they have their supplies you can really create an environment for students to learn.
The teachers submitted their projects on Donorschoose.org and were selected as winners to receive the funding. Ware joined the teachers on a guided shopping experience with a Staples back-to-school specialist. He also helped some students shop for their school supplies.
