JUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – More than 7 different agencies responded to a 30- acre grass fire in Justin, that burned several cars.
Justin Fire Chief Mathew Mitchell said because of the low humidity and high dry season, there are some tips for residents to consider.
“Some preventatives are to have a clear and accessible driveway and short grass 30 feet around the home, up to 100 feet away,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell said try to limit mowing your lawn because sparks are what can cause a fire. He said if you must, do it in the early morning or later in the evening. The city of Justin is currently under a burn ban.
