I-820 Improvements Set to Add Additional Lanes, Increase Safety for Drivers

TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Department of Transportation hosted a groundbreaking on the East Loop 820 between Randol Mill Road and Pipeline Road.

TXDOT spokesman Val Lopez said the $174 million project will add additional lanes in each direction, replace Trinity River bridges and create new direct connectors to and from SH 121.

Lopez said these changes will improve mobility and safety for drivers in Northeast Tarrant County.

The project was part of a $3.8 billion Texas Clear Lanes Initiative to remove major bottlenecks and improve roads.

It will be completed in 2022.
