‘We were scared, our main focus was to get her down’, Fort Worth Officers Save a Woman From Jumping off a Bridge

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth Police officers Trae Cierzan and Justin Henry responded to the bridge off I-35 W southbound to 820 east.

“We were scared,” Officer Henry said. “Definitely scared, it’s not every day you see someone hanging up there,” Cierzan followed.

The two officers say they didn’t think at that moment, they just did whatever they could to get her down.

“You have to talk to them like they’re humans because they’re in an extreme emotional state and if you get them to talk to you things will turn out for the better,” Cierzan said.

In the dash cam video the woman says “Everyone wants me dead so I’ll just die, okay?”

Officer Henry responded with “no one wants that”.

The officers said they followed protocol and hand cuffed the woman to keep her safe.

“We’re going to get you some help,” they said.

Officers say they believe they were just at the right place at the right time.
