DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas was designated as a ‘Purple Heart City’ during a special presentation at Wednesday’s City Council briefing.
“We are remembering and honoring all Purple Heart recipients living or dead,” said Jon Lunkwicz, Commander for the Texas Military Order of the Purple Heart. “We are honoring all veterans in the city of Dallas that have served in the military.”
The designation is meant to honor and acknowledge anyone living in the city who has been given the ‘Purple Heart.’ The award is given to military members who were killed or wounded in combat with a declared enemy of the United States.
