Botham Jean Family Calling for Fairness After Search Warrant was Made Public

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The family of Botham Jean, killed by a Dallas police officer last week, is demanding fairness after details of a search warrant detailing what was taken from Jean’s apartment were made public.

“It’s incumbent on the City of Dallas to begin to make things right,” said family attorney Lee Merritt Friday. “We are demanding that Officer Amber Guyger be fired, terminated immediately.”

Jean’s mother Allison Jean had been calling for any protests to remain peaceful.

“But if information like that will come out to tarnish my son’s reputation in his death, I will not sit back and see that justice does not prevail,” Allison Jean said.

Officer Amber Guyger, on administrative leave, says she entered Jean’s apartment by mistake and shot him, thinking he was a burglar. Guyger is facing manslaughter charges.
