Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – North Texas Giving Day is Thursday, Sept. 20, it’s the largest 18-hour giving event in the country.
The main donation day is Sept. 20, but the annual event is actually 11 days of raising awareness for donations for more nearly 3,000 nonprofits across North Texas. This year, the event got kicked off on Sept. 10 with an opening ceremony featuring Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and other mayors across North Texas.Several events are slated to celebrate the event across the country.

In Arlington, blues guitar great Jimmy Vaughan headlines a free community concert at Levitt Pavillion on Abrams, sponsored by the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation. The foundation will also be giving out $50,000 grants to North Texas non-profit organizations.
Last year, North Texas Giving Day helped raise $39-million benefiting a total of 2,723 nonprofits.
Since North Texas Giving Day began nine years ago, a total of $195 million has been raised for area nonprofits.
