Non-profit receives nearly 200k Scholarship Money for Military Families in DFW

ADDISON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Folds of Honor non-profit, received nearly $200,000 to go towards military family scholarships for students in Texas

The was raised by DFW shoppers at Albertsons and Tom Thumb, who donated to the organization at checkout.

Sarah Duncan with folds of honor says she received this scholarship to attend college, and now she works for them.

Duncan says it’s a great way to give back to the families who serve.

Pricilla Menchaca serves in the Air Force, She is a scholarship recipient, providing for her three children. “When we saw the amount I was shocked! It pretty much covers their whole tuition which I am so thankful for,” Menchaca said.

She said she especially needed this help as her husband recently passed away while serving.

The Folds of Honor says this money will help them to award around 40 scholarships.
