North Texas EMTs and Paramedics Wear Pink Gloves to Raise Funds, Awareness for Breast Cancer

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) –  MedStar’s EMTs and Paramedics wear pink gloves in October to support breast cancer awareness. MedStar Service Manager Shaun Curtis said a portion of the cost for each box of gloves, goes to breast cancer research and for access to free mammograms and support services. “We believe it makes a big difference in contributing to the overall fund towards breast cancer but I think the main thing is that it brings awareness in reminding folks of how big of an issue it continues to be,” Curtis said. He said employees use the gloves on each call and on each call they use about 3 pairs. MedStar orders 40 cases, which comes out to be 4,000 pink gloves in the month of October.
