Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – A new nationwide alert to be used in national emergencies will be tested today. This afternoon at 2:18 Eastern the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct what’s been dubbed its “presidential alert” test.
An alert will come across 225-million electronic devices across the U.S., and “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
On October 3, 2018 at appx 2:20 EDT @FEMA will issue a Nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts to test national warning capabilities. The test message will be sent to all radio, TV, and compatible cell phones. pic.twitter.com/LiLaO1PmPC
