Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge Anticipates Improvements and Expansion

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is enhancing their trail facilities.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department awarded the center a $200,000 grant to make trails safer, add amenities, and even expand parking.

They will improve the center’s 20-miles of trails at Greer Island, an area that suffered from severe floods in 2015.

Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center Executive Director Haily Summerford said this center in total is over 37 acres, making it one of the largest nature parks in the Country. She said with these funds, the center will be able to preserve it for future generations.
