Frisco, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A handful of North Texas firefighters will be heading to California this morning to help battle the blaze ravaging the southern part of the state.
The Frisco fire Department says it will be sending a brush truck and other resources, with the expectation of its crew staying there for two weeks. Frisco’s team will be heading out around 10:30AM from the Frisco Central Fire Station.
About 20 firefighters from Dallas and Lewisville will also head West today.
Dallas Fire-Rescue is currently prepping equipment at the DFR Training Facility on Dolphin Road, before they officially deploy at a time today between 6-7pm according to spokesman Jason Evans.
In total, 200 Texas firefighters are going to help out, taking with them roughly 50 fire engines.
The wildfire is believed to be only 10 percent contained.
