FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth Police say they’ve reported several package thieves, where people go onto your doorstep and steal packages when you’re not home.
Sergeant Chris Britt with Fort Worth Police said there are ways to avoid this. “You can either send it to your work, get your neighbors to pick it up for you or have them put in a lock box,” Britt said. You can also add special instructions for the delivery like asking for a signature or asking for it to be hid behind the fence or bush. “You can also simply track it and get alerts when it’s on the way so you can make sure you’re home,” Britt said.
Fort Worth Police say car burglaries are also a problem this time of year because people tend to leave their shopping in cars while they’re accumulating gifts inside malls. “If you’re making the rounds put them in your trunk cover them up..these are crimes of opportunity, they’re not just randomly breaking into cars they’re breaking into cars that they know there’s something in there,” he said.
