Carrollton (WBAP/KLIF) – The city of Carrollton is praising quick action by its Environmental Services Department for preventing a broken sewer line from turning into an environmental disaster. The sewer line broke late Monday morning when the bank of Hutton Branch Creek gave way. 150,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the creek, but by Monday evening Carrollton’s staff had repaired the broken line, vacuumed up the spill, and spread neutralizing and deodorizing treatments throughout the area. They are now working to stabilize the creek bank.
