Dallas (WBAP/KLIF – A Dallas member of the Texas Legislature is again calling for the immediate removal of a controversial plaque fastened to the state capitol wall next to his office in Austin. Representative Eric Johnson says the plaque shouldn’t be displayed in the capitol building because it insists slavery was not the underlying cause of the civil war, and is therefore a lie. Johnson says Attorney General Ken Paxton has ruled removing the plaque does not require a legislative vote, so there’s no reason it can’t come down now.
