Irving (WBAP/KLIF) – The city of Irving is warning residents scammers are trying to bilk them out of their money by lying about the safety of Irving’s water. Irving’s official website warns at least one con man pretending to work for the city is telling residents he needs to test their water for salmonella contamination. He reportedly says the test costs $400, and refusing to have it done will result in a fine, and the resident’s water will be turned off. Irving says none of that is true. There is nothing wrong with city water, and if any tests were ever needed there would be no charge.
