Dallas Firefighters Being Recognized as Heroes Following 4-alarm Blaze

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Members of Dallas-Fire-Rescue are being recognized as heroes following a 4-alarm fire in Lake Highlands.

According to DFR, a mayday call went out while crews were fighting a fire Tuesday at the Cambridge Park Condominiums on Audelia Road. An upper floor collapsed on three firefighters. A Rapid Intervention Team jumped into action and rescued all three first responders.
Dallas City Councilman Adam McGough said during a city council meeting Wednesday that he was impressed by all firefighters at the scene.

“I saw the way they cared for each other,” McGough told the council. “And the way they cared for the men and women who were impacted by this.”

The firefighter admitted to the hospital after the rescue is back home. The two others, and one resident, were treated and released.
