Dallas/Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Operating under bankruptcy protection, 24 Sears stores in Texas are among over 500 that the company plans to sell off as a group in an effort to keep the brand alive.
The Dallas Morning News reports, among the Texas stores, are locations at the Parks in Arlington, Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, North East Mall in Hurst, Town East Mall in Mesquite, Collin Creek Mall in Plano and Richardson Square. A Kmart store in McAllen is also included.
Sears has also asked for rent cuts as it continues its reorganization.

There are 16 other stores in Texas which are not included, including three Dallas-Fort Worth locations: Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, Irving Mall and Southwest Center Mall in Dallas, which is being redeveloped.
