DENTON (WBAP/KLIF)- A Tyson distribution center could be coming to the city of Denton pending a council vote in January. Tyson foods asked the city for financial incentives to open the 30-million dollar, 350,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse in west Denton. Caroline Booth, Denton’s Economic Development Director says this is a capital investment for the city. Booth said Tyson will bring an additional tax revenue of $51 million geneated for the county, city and school district. “The tax revenue helps the city provide services like police, fire, parks, libraries so this additional $51 million in value will be really important,” Booth said. The distribution center will also bring 100 full time jobs, paying around $25 an hour, with benefits.
