PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – After her first term, Plano’s Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Angela Miner has decided not to seek re-election.
The City of Plano’s Steve Stoler said Miner is honored to have served the city for four years but is ready to move on with the next chapter of her life.
“She feels that she served the city well and we agree with her. She’s accomplished so much on the council and we’re sad to see her go. We’re going to miss her,” he said.
Stoler said Miner was a key player in some of the city’s development plans.
“There’s a plan on how to develop the eastern part of town. It was called “Envision Oak Point” that she was instrumental in being a part of,” he said.
Miner has served the Plano community for more than 20 years with various leadership roles and was awarded the Texas PTA Lifetime Achievement and National PTA Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The Greek native said she plans to visit Greece for six months with her husband who is retiring.
