VIDEO: Sketch, Surveillance Video Released in Shooting Death of Former Highland Park Student

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – One man is in custody and two others at large in connection to last week’s shooting death in the parking garage at The Shops at Park Lane in Dallas.

According to Dallas Police, 23-year-old Rene Montanez Jr. was arrested Saturday for his involvement in the murder of  former Highland Park High School student, Joseph Pintucci. He was charged with Capital Murder. His bond was set at $500,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, Pintucci and two other people were sitting in his car in the parking garage the night of January 24 after setting up a drug deal on an online messaging app. Montanez Jr. and two other suspects approached the car and demanded the drugs at gunpoint. The affidavit states that after taking the drugs, one of the suspects other than Montanez Junior, shot Pintucci. The three suspects fled on foot. A witness told Police the men ran from the car laughing.

Witnesses later described the suspects to Police and an sketch of one of them was drawn. Surveillance video from the parking garage was also released.
